The third residential tower, Lumo One welcomed its inhabitants this June. The 31-storey high tower rises to 120 meters. The construction works for the fourth tower, and preparation for the remaining towers are also continuing. Once fully completed, the Kalasatama Centre comprises 8 high-rise residential towers between 24 and 37 storeys.

Kalasatama Health and well-being centre scores top marks among young doctors
An educational survey among young Finnish doctors is conducted annually by the Finnish Junior Doctors’ Association. The results of the latest survey were published recently, and the young doctors gave Kalasatama health and well-being centre highest possible score, five stars.

UPM Headquarters takes part in LUX Helsinki light festival
UPM Headquarters designed by Helin & Co will be one of this year’s artworks in the annual LUX Helsinki light festival. A 3D video piece by Soil Searchers Collective will be projected to the façade of the building. Its Songs We Sing is an animated 3D video projection that invites viewers to explore an altogether different kind of forest.

Bryga deck park presented on Paysage Topscape magazine
Bryga deck park on top of REDI Kalasatama centre is presented on the latest issue (no 46) of the international Paysage Topscape magazine dedicated to landscape architecture. Bryga was chosen as environmental structure of the year in 2019 with its high-quality, modern landscape architecture with rainwater motifs and compositions of archipelago plants. Along with the deck park, the Kalastamanpuisto park connected to REDI centre is also presented in the article.

Loisto tower in Kalasatama Centre has been completed
Loisto tower in Helsinki’s Kalasatama welcomes its inhabitants. The 32-storey tower is the second to complete of a tower composition of eight high-rise buildings that, together with the shopping centre REDI forms the Kalasatama Centre.

Länsimetro (West Metro) has received the 2020 Nordic Lighting Design Award. Projects eligible for the Nordic Lighting Design Award are the national winners from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden from the past two years.

Deck Park in REDI Kalasatama Centre Awarded 2019 Environmental Structure of the Year
The entry for REDI Kalasatama Centre won an international design-build competition in 2010. Part of the plan was an outline of a deck park placed on the roof of the commercial centre. The park in its completed form has now been chosen as 2019 Environmental Structure of the Year (Vuoden ympäristörakenne 2019).

Helin & Co Designs Metsä Pavilion for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo
Helin & Co Architects is designing a wooden Metsä pavilion to be used during the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. The pavilion will rise to the site of the Finnish Embassy in Japan, which is centrally located in Tokyo near the Roppongi district.

Primary-Stingy Block of Flats Awarded in World Architecture News Awards
The “Primary-Stingy Block of Flats” designed by Helin & Co Architects has received Highly Commended award in the Affordable Housing category in WAN-Awards 2018, one of the largest international architecture awards. The awards aim to promote and celebrate the latest in architectural schemes. The award ceremony was held in London last November.
