Tieto found new premises at the former Nokia building in Keilahti, Espoo. Existing big atrium and the views to the sea fit very well to Tieto´s open source culture. The interior concept was driven by nature and data. The colours and design reflect Finnish nature. State of the art sensor data is processed to guide people to the right locations around the office.

Office floors 3-7 are for internal use only. There is a strict non-desk policy on these floors and a smart-application will guide people to seating areas based on their present needs. Multiple sensors measure the office space usage, air quality and other functions. With the non-desk office policy we were able to enchance the seating capacity to 1,7 persons per desk, which in turn led to substantial savings and an improved open office concept.

The office space is divided into four different functional areas: Communication, Collaboration, Concentration and Chill Out. Employees can accordingly choose an area that best suits their individual needs and tasks. Different areas have different furniture solutions and seating arrangements, relaxed and unofficial. Dividing panels are coded according to each area. They give visual guidance to the employees entering the space with the help of the smart application.

The reception and visitor area reflects Tieto’s open source office culture. The first and second floors are open for all. Works of light art welcome people to enter the world of Tieto. The raw data of Tieto´s digital processes are reflected in the art work, for example kindergarten food delivery data. The light art also create a vibrant atmosphere in the lobby area.

Different technical applications, effective spatial arrangements and esthetical elements create an unique new way of working in office building which has been well received among Tieto emplyees.
